According to the World Health Organization, sexual health can be defined as:
" a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being related to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility to obtain pleasure and safe sexual experiences, free from coercion, discrimination and violence"
The importance of sexual health constitutes a relevant part of people's lives since it influences the physical, mental, emotional and social levels. Therefore, it contributes to well-being and personal happiness. Today this issue is approached with respect, providing the necessary information for men and women to acquire and maintain healthy sexual habits. Thus avoiding unwanted situations such as unwanted pregnancies, contagion of sexually transmitted diseases. discrimination based on sexual condition, harassment in the educational and labor spheres or gender violence.
This week, from February 14 to 18, the second session of the sex education workshops is taking place in our institute. Once again, the social worker and sexologist of the City council of La Oliva Alejandra Batista Díaz has continued to carry out her project "EDUCATING IN SEXUALITY" which in three sessions will speak to our students about the importance of having sexual health.
Once again we thank the City Council of La Oliva for the help and support of our ERASMUS+ FIT4THOUGHT project.
