MOBILITY TO TURKEY

IES LA OLIVA is committed to the internationalization of education with its European projects that benefit its students and teachers.

Within the framework of its ERASMUS + FIT4THOUGHT program, the institute has participated from May 23 to 27 in a meeting in Istanbul with centers from Croatia, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Turkey.

IES LA OLIVA participates in the ERASMUS + FIT4THOUGHT project within the KA 229 School Exchange Associations modality, which aims to promote, on a European scale, cooperation, peer learning and the exchange of experiences between schools.

From May 23 to 27, 2020, three students and two teachers together with a group of students and teachers from Croatia, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Turkey have made the mobility to Istanbul hosted by the Hasköy Ortaokulu high school where we have carried out activities related to the correct use of thechnologies, how to acquire tools to fight cyber bulling and sports activities to promote healthy lifestily habits. In addition to knowing how this school works, we have been in contact with the culture and traditions of this fascinating city, being  English language of communication.

With this ERASMUS + FIT4THOUGHT project IES LA OLIVA strengthens and commits to the internationalization of teaching. Since 2017, when we began to participate in European projects with the ETWINNING platform, our center continues its European experience, with FIT4THOUGHT being our second experience with ERASMUS + projects after the success achieved with LORESU- Let's Study Local and Regional Subjects at School (2018) .The international mobility of students and teachers is the driving force behind the internationalization of education, as it represents a unique experience for training. This experience of international educational cooperation has made us understand that the learning of foreign languages and linguistic diversity in Europe are essential to improve mutual understanding and facilitate access to knowledge of other countries and cultures.

At IES LA OLIVA we firmly believe that this type of experience is an invaluable life lesson for our students and that it offers them a unique opportunity to learn, get to know and experience other cultures using the English language as a means of communication.
